Throughout my life, I have always always coached friends and family to live their dreams, transcend limited thinking, and make choices in alignment with their heart and spirit -- although I had no idea this was a possible career path or even had a name!
Certified Life Coach:
I received my coaching certification in November 2004, after graduating from the ICF accredited Coach For Life program in November 2003.
I continue to be involved with Coach for Life, mentoring new coaches and supporting the training program.
College Education:
With two bachelors degrees, Women's Studies and Comparative American Cultures, from
Washington State University, I have gained a thorough and complex understanding of issues and experiences surrounding race, class, gender, sexual orientation, multiculturalism and diversity.
During college I was also incredibly active in the campus community holding various positions with the ASWSU GLBTA, forming alliances with other maginalized campus groups, such as the Asian Pacific American Student Coalition, the African American Association, the Chicano/Latino Student Center and the Veterans Association.
Part of my journey also led me to attend the Simmons College Masters in Teaching program before discovering my calling as a life coach.
Work Experience:
I've worked in various helping professions over the last ten years, often simultaneously, including public speaking, social work, technology, and human resources.
My work experience has not only provided me with a variety of skills and knowledge useful in different industries, but also has provided valuable personal experience with seeking fulfillment outside of myself and in other people's definitions of what is valuable and worthy. Wanting more from life and knowing I was not on my true path led me to discover life coaching.
A Little More:
Currently, along with life coaching, I am living my dream of being an artist, both creating beautiful and vibrant abstract paintings and creating functional ceramic pieces.
In my free time, I enjoy sipping tea, reading historical fiction, taking walks in nature, writing, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
