Meister Eckhart on self-love

Erich Fromm, The Art of Loving
"Love is the active concern for the life and growth of that which we love. Where this active concern is lacking, there is no love." Erich Fromm, pg 25
"Love is not primarily a relationship to a specific person; it is an attitude, an orientation of character which determines the relatedness of a person to the world as a whole, not toward one "object" of love." pg 43
"Selfishness and self-love, far from being identical, are actually opposites." pg 56

awakening the faeries
My first gig in San Diego was supporting an invitational for the Foundation for Inspired Learning. This is where I first met Allison, a fellow graduate of Coach For Life. She and I would be the support team for the three day invitational.
The night before the invitational, Allison, Linda (an invitational co-facilitator), and I spent several hours doing last minute errands and getting to know each other. After only a few hours, I felt I could confide in Allison how difficult it was for me to leave home and truly be in San Diego, let alone support 15 world visionaries. As she dropped me off where I was staying I gave a quick overview of what had been transpiring in my life for the last couple months.
The next day, day one of the invitational, Allison referred to me as a faerie a couple different times. At first I dismissed it as coincidence. Day two, Allison again called attention to my being a faerie and I began to wondered if this was merely something she said to many people or if she somehow knew about my special connection.
After we engaged in a couple exercises that brought us closer, I finally decided I would ask Allison about faeries during a break. She told me she just knew I was a faerie because of my physical being - what she could see, and also my personality and mannerisms. Allison recognized me as a faerie.
I shared with Allison my affinity for butterflies and faeries, and my turmoil about using "Abundance Faerie" in connection with my coaching practice. Allison shared with me her connection to butterflies, faeries and angels, and her own excitement about an upcoming workshop about Angel Therapy she'd be attending with Doreen Virtue.
So much of what Allison said to me made resonated with my beliefs and experience. I was intrigued by what she said about faeries and angels. With this conversation, I knew it was divine purpose that we were brought together to work at this invitational - and I knew we would become friends.
Day three Allison brought me two books by Doreen Virtue, Ph.D., Earth Angels and Healing with the Fairies. I started with the shorter of the two, Earth Angels. This fantastic book outlined traits of several different kinds of "earth angels", incarnated angels, elementals, starpeople and wizards. I know it must sound wild and crazy, but I really identified with what this book was saying.
Although I'm not exactly to a place of "seeing faeries and leprechauns" flitting and jumping around trees and bushes, I have certainly been inspired to embrace my own faerie-ness, and know that there is much insight to gain from Doreen's own encounters with these creatures.
With that said, I introduce myself to you - delicate and light, vibrant and strong, fluttering, winged silver - bringing joy, beauty and abundance to all by reminding each person of their divine connection with Spirit - Abundance Faerie!Labels: Other

San Diego
I just returned from San Diego where I supported two fantastic events. The first, The Foundation For Inspired Learning Invitational, where a dozen brilliant visionaries met to experience the Inspired Learning Model (tm). The second, Coach For Life's Life Coaching Program, Part 1.
Wow! What an amazing 9 days!
I can't even begin to describe the experience and the massive insights I experienced and am still processing. I have so many wonderful ideas that I am excited to begin sharing and implementing in my life, my artwork, my writing and my coaching practice over the next two months.
I'd really like to thank the participants of both events for their magical energy, and for really allowing themselves to be so open and trusting. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be with so many magnificent spirits, in a safe and sacred space, where I could continue my journey of intense learning and transformation.
I'll be spending the weekend enjoying some much needed rest, and Monday will begin gathering my thoughts so I can start sharing some of the beautiful insights here in my coaching blog.
Thank you and stay tuned! AmyLabels: Other
